Introduction
Welcome to Stuffy, your personal stuffed animal story generator. We built Stuffy so that your privacy is protected by design: Stuffy does not run any servers or databases that store your personal data. Everything you create stays on your own device and, if you use iCloud, in your private Apple iCloud account. We, the makers of Stuffy, never keep a copy of it.
Where Your Data Lives
Stuffy does not collect your content onto any server of ours. The information you create is kept on your device and synced only through your own private Apple iCloud account (using Apple's CloudKit):
- Photos of your stuffed animals that you choose to add
- Basic information about your stuffed animals (name, type)
- Stories you generate and save
- Your in-app preferences
Because this data is stored by Apple on your device and in your iCloud — not by us — Stuffy has no copy to access, share, or sell.
Data Storage and Security
All of your data is stored by Apple — on your device and in your personal iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit — and protected by your Apple ID. Stuffy has no database or backend storage that holds your content, so there is nothing on our side to be lost, leaked, sold, or exposed. Storage and security are handled entirely by Apple.
Story, Voice & Cartoon Generation
To create a story, narration, or cartoon, the app sends only the information needed for that request (such as your prompt, or a stuffed animal's photo) to OpenAI, which generates the result and returns it to your device. This is used purely to produce your content in the moment — Stuffy does not store it, and it is not used to build any profile of you.
The third-party services involved are OpenAI (to generate stories, narration, and cartoons) and Apple CloudKit (where your data is stored). Each has its own privacy policy and data-handling practices.
Your Rights & Control
Because your data lives only on your device and in your own iCloud — never with us — you are always in complete control of it:
- View or edit any stuffed animal, photo, or story directly in the app at any time.
- Delete any item in the app, which removes it from your device and iCloud.
- Remove everything permanently by deleting the app and its iCloud data from your Apple account.
Since Stuffy keeps no copy of your data, there is nothing you need to request from us — you can access, correct, or delete your information yourself, whenever you like.
